IMMIGRANT YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS

Immigrant Youth and Young Adults.jpeg

Whether a child, a teenager, or a young adult the certainty of having the correct immigration status can give them the freedom to expand their lives opportunities and have the chance to thrive in the United States.

Allow us to help you reach that freedom by having the certainty that your immigration status is the one you need at this time of your life.

IMMIGRAnt YOUTH

Immigrant youth make up a significant portion of both the population and the workforce in America. However, many of them fall out of legal immigration status without realizing. This may be due to overstaying a visa, engaging in activities not permitted under their visa, or because they entered the United States without inspection.

In any case, many young immigrants in the United States are eligible to apply for lawful immigration status or to correct a mistake that made them fall out of status.

Undocumented youth face immense barriers in accessing education and are concentrated in low-wage jobs.  At SFR Law Corporation we know that the right immigration status can help young immigrants to be healthy, caring, and productive adults.

If you are a young immigrant interested in better opportunities in life, employment, or education who wants to find the correct legal status, contact us! Our goal is to help you achieve the immigration status that allows you to expand your educational and career opportunities.

At SFR Law Corporation we know that only together we grow.

STUDENT VISA

The universities and colleges in the United States attract some of the brightest students from all over the world due to their state-of-the-art facilities, advanced research, and stringent academic rigor.  If you want to study in the United States, you must have a student visa.

Your course of study and the type of school you plan to attend determine the type of visa that you should acquire. The United States government offers three student visa types: F, J, and M.

  • F Student Visa: for studying at an accredited U.S. college or university, or to study English at an English language institute

  • J Exchange Visa: for participation in an exchange program in high school or university

  • M Student Visa: for non-academic or vocational study or training in the United States

SFR Law corporation can help you decide what is the best student visa for you, depending on your current situation and your future goals. Since interests and goals change while we learn more about a subject, we understand that as an international student you will need the necessary freedom to pursue your goals. Together we can find the perfect immigration status for you, one that allows you to expand your educational and career options.

How to apply for a student visA

Before you can apply for an F, J, or M student visa, you must first apply and be accepted by a U.S. institution of higher education that is certified by the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP). Beware that although there are many educational institutions in the USA, not all of them are accredited to host international students. Let us join your enthusiasm for planning your adventure away from home; while you get excited about choosing your future alma mater, we will make sure the institution, and you, comply with all the requirements to grant you a happy and productive school year.

Student’s Family

If your spouse and/or children intend to live with you in the United States while you study, they must also enroll in SEVIS, obtain individual Form I-20s from the SEVP-approved school, and apply for a visa (but they do not pay the SEVIS fee).

Student Visa Restrictions

Many occasions, students “fall out of status” because they are not aware of what is and what is not permitted by their student visa. At SFR Law Corporation, we can keep you informed and help you to maintain your immigration status, and we will be here to advise you when you want to expand your life choices. Change of institution, or training program? A job offer? Life goes on while you study, don’t let an opportunity to pass you by because you do not have the correct immigration status.

Our goal is to help you thrive and expand your life choices in America.

Advisory: Studding is not permitted under the Visa Waiver Program or with Visitor Visas.
A student visa is required to study in the United States. Foreign nationals may not study after entering on a visitor (B) visa or through the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), except to undertake
recreational study (non-credit) as part of a tourist visit.
